Curfew

The lightbulbs in my house are covered in dust.

I slip boots over sweatpant legs for a night walk.

Dry wood stuck to a chain link fence.

Why are there lights in the park when there is a curfew?

Mundane daytime obsessions flicker

The stars are piercing.

A dipper, an ice cream truck and an arrow slow my heart.

Waves of insignificance take me back inside where

Cave paintings fill my dreams.
