Soft Like Copper

The dandelions are blown

Warm sheets of orange are

Born inside a star are carried to you

Now they conduct music with heat

It enters our room and turns green under the weight of our heavy breath. It softly transmits your energy to mine and mine to yours

We are not enough. It exits the room, golden once again, and breaks all of the convicts from their jail cells

They scatter like electrons. We don’t fear them when they circle close and we don’t miss them when they disappear

My dear, one second of happiness can be reframed to be one thousand years

Gravity pulls me towards you like happiness brings a grin

Last year weighed one million pounds until that walk in the park

A man with a pipe sits on the bench. His leather vest and moustache make him 30 or 70 years of age

The flowers around him are in full bloom

He removes a knife from his vest and beheads them all

Petals fall and stems split

Life drains and still he thinks about you, Copper.
